I can't say enough good things about this wonderful local taqueria! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the warm and welcoming owners who made us feel right at home. They were so kind and offered great suggestions on what to order--it's clear they genuinely care about making sure each guest has an exceptional experience. The food was absolutely fantastic! My husband and I both ordered the wet burritos with half green and half red sauce, and they were beyond delicious. The flavors were so rich and comforting, like a home-cooked meal that you'd expect to be shared with family. Every bite was packed with freshness and flavor. We also loved hearing the backstory behind the restaurant--it adds such a personal touch to the experience. If you're looking for authentic, flavorful Mexican food and a truly special dining experience, this place is a must-visit! We'll definitely be back for more!

QUESABIRRIAS & SOPES When I go to Mexican eateries most of the items I've been ordering are either tacos, burritos, or nachos. Once in a while I'll order enchiladas. Around the last six months my craving when I go to Mexican eateries is quesabirria however not all Mexican eateries serve quesabirria. The main reason I started go to Carmelita's Taqueria is pictures of quesabirrias posted on Yelp. The first time I ate here was September when I was waiting for my tires to be serviced at America's Tire, which is across the street. During that day I ordered three quesabirrias along with chips and small guacamole. I also ordered a melon drink. For me I prefer my quesabirria with a crunchy texture on the outside with a gooey texture inside. The quesabirrias I ate at Camerlita's Taqueria had the combinations of those two qualities. The melon was a refreshing drink to counteract the richness of the quesabirrias. Even though I enjoyed the guacamole I regret ordering it as the price wasn't worth it. One extra quesabirria would've been worth the price instead of the guacamole. The next time I came to Carmelita's was about a month later. I still had that quesabirria craving, but this time I also looked at the house specialties section of the menu. At that time the only thing that interested me was the super taco plate, which included two super tacos along with beans and rice. For the meat I decided to get asada. Instead of three quesabirrias I ordered two. Surprisingly the two super tacos were more filling than the quesabirrias and that was due to the sour cream and guacamole. For me coming back to Camelita's Taqueria it can't just be the quesabirria. I looked at the house specialties section of the menu. There had to be an item I rarely have yet unrecognizable. That item was the sopes. When I looked at the house specialties section it lists sopes and sopito plate. The sopes were four sopes while the sopito plate was two sopes along with beans and rice. I wanted to order something new yet I was cautious because I wasn't not sure if I would like sopes. When I came to Carmelita's Taqueria today for a late lunch I intended to order the four sopes, but at the list minute I decided to get the sopito plate because I felt two sopes were enough for me if I enjoyed them. For the meat I ordered chorizo. The other item I ordered as you guess it was the quesabirria. As with the last visit I ordered two quesabirrias. For lunch I ordered a horchata. I was concerned that my lunch would be heavy due to the sopes and quesabirrias. Maybe because I didn't eat breakfast today, I didn't find the two items I ate during lunch were heavy. The sopes had that crunchy corn textures. The toppings on the sopes were filling, but didn't make me feel bloated. Even though I enjoyed eating the sopes I'm glad I ordered the sopito plate as the two sopes were enough that I could enjoy my quesabirrias. When I go to eat at restaurants or casual eateries with the same cuisine I don't like to order the same items because I might miss other items that are specialties of those eateries. Also you might miss the charm of that eatery if you keep on ordering the same items. At Carmelita's Taqueria even though this place is known for the quesabirria I recommend looking at items listed on the house specialties section of the menu such as the sopes.

The food is so tasty here! I ordered a veggie burrito and horchata to-go. They have 3-4 different salsas and let me say, all of them were . The horchata is very authentic and flavorful as well. The place is cute and the staff is really nice. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area!

We came here because I was told that they have the best chile relleno. True. I had a chile relleno burrito and it was great. The restaurant is a nice taqueria in a small shopping center with lots of parking. I must say that the service was superb. We were asked numerous times as to whether was okay. I hope to be back soon.
